To attract those who love the culture and music of the Korean Peninsula, South Korea has introduced the K-pop visa program for foreign tourists.
The K-pop visa is a cultural trainee visa for those passionate about learning K-pop choreography or music production at Korean entertainment companies.
South Korea has introduced several travel programs that combine with major K-pop events. Additionally, the government plans to expand cultural experience programs aimed at attracting young tourists, such as on-site photo printing and personal color analysis. Another novelty is the provision of short-term public transportation cards, making it easier for tourists to move around during their stay in South Korea.
Additionally, South Korea has implemented measures such as enhancing visa processing personnel and expanding visa application centers to reduce visa issuance times for Southeast Asian tourists and boost international tourism. The government has also improved the electronic travel authorization system (K-ETA) to allow tourists to register in bulk and streamline the information input process.
At the end of this year, South Korea will pilot a cultural training visa for foreigners passionate about dance and music. Furthermore, luggage transport services from KTX high-speed train stations to hotels will be expanded at 16 stations, and short-term prepaid transportation cards will be sold on flights entering South Korea.
